It would cost you like $9.55 + the $1 to get the two-ride regular card (with the 5% bonus). You can always find out when you get to Jamaica or Howard Beach.

Generally all Seniors are treated equally, regardless of residency, as long as they have proof of age, with the official age being 65. If a Senior Discount is advertised, generally everyone over 65 will qualify. Some hotels, attractions, stores, etc offer a "seniors" discount ...
5. Re: MTA Senior Discount. 5 years ago. The senior fare is not loaded onto an existing MetroCard, so your old ones won't work. They are separate, two-use cards that say "Senior" right on them, and you don't pay anything additional for the card, just the $2.70 round trip. Once you use a card twice, you throw it away.
