My advice would be to take the Keihin Kyuko or JR railway from Shinagawa Station (right in front of your hotel) to Kawasaki Station and take a taxi from there.

Re: Costco near Waikiki. There is one in Iwilei. it is about 1 mile towards the airport from downtown Honolulu. About 5-6 miles from Waikiki. There is one in Hawaii Kai about 6-7 miles from Waikiki. But this may be closer or as close as far as time because there are less bus stops. So either one.
15 years ago. The closest Costco to central Tokyo is at Kawasaki. It may be the newest too, although I understand there is another opening in Hokkaido. There is another one at Makuhari, thats not far from the Higashi Kanto Expressway, that leads to Narita Airport.
Re: Directions to Costco from LIH. The easiest way is to go down Ahukini Rd, until it reaches the highway. Hilo Hatties will be on your right and KFC will be ahead of you. Turn left and go down the highway, past Rice St and past Kukui Grove. Right after Kukui Grove you will see the Gaylord's intersection, and Costco is on the left hand side.
Re: Costco in Kauai. Groceries are more expensive, but not to the point of ridiculous. There's Walmart & K-Mart for things like shampoo, sunscreen, coffee etc. For groceries, Big Save has several locations, there's a Safeway in Kapaa (use your Von's card) and a Foodland (my favorite store) in Waipouli and Princeville.
