Actually, there are discounts at both restaurants and shopping w/your AAA card, but I believe you have to book your trip through AAA. You will not receive a "AAA package rate" unless you book through AAA. We have found that "package rates" are often exactly the same, whether booked through AAA or directly with Disney.
