Hotwire car rental is such a scam!!! I booked car online on September 30th and I got HOT RATE for it. When I went to rent a car agency ( Ace ) they told me that there is mile limitation for my reservation ( 150 miles a day ) and that I should cancel reservation because if I go further that 450 miles in 3 days I will pay 25 cents per extra mile.
People who seem to be most satisfied with Hotwire research the going rate of acceptable hotels before they book and only book with Hotwire if the secret rate is substantially below the going rate. I believe if you look at Hotwire's terms and conditions you will find the 58% savings is an averge based on several factors.

However the day when I tried to check in, the hotel said Hotwire did not book the hotel for me. Contacted the Hotwire customer service several times and asked them to find another hotel for my family and they could not, my family could not find other hotel either. After 3 hours waiting for their customer support response, we got nothing.
