We hired and paid for a Hertz car rental, before leaving Australia, to be picked up in Dublin Ireland. We were told that we could not purchase Super Cover Insurance before leaving, rather we had to purchase it at the counter in Dublin.
In Australia the insurance on the vehicle automatically covers other vehicles and property - “The third party/parties”. The amount covered is usually up to $20 million (I know of one claim where a car ran off the road, caught fire, set fire to a farmers crop, whole crop was lost, and insurance had to pay the farmer $5 million.)
