    Houston is VERY spread out. I believe Post Oak Hilton Hotel has a car rental desk, check with hotel to make sure. Without a car, I would recommend a 2 day stay at the most at a downtown Houston hotel close to the rail line (Courtyard by Marriott-Houston Downtown for example) which goes from downtown to the Museum District and Astrodome area.

You don’t need a car while in Victoria but to travel anywhere else a car is pretty much a necessity. There is a bus service but a car gives you more freedom.
