Windows - many store decorations will be up. most notably Macy’s, but quite a few wait till the weekend after Thanksgiving.
1. Re: Thanksgiving - good or bad time to visit? 19 years ago. The parade is quite a spectacle. I suggest you arrive the night before, get up bright and early, see the parade, and then have a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. The next day is the start of the holiday season, and the mad shoppers are out in force.
We will be in New York this year for Thanksgiving, arriving the 23rd for the first time and will still be getting our bearings. I am trying to find somewhere suitable for a family of 6 to have a (close to) traditional thanksgiving meal close to the upper east side. Looking for suggestions. Thank you. Jodie
