When I got to the rental counter after an hour standing in line, the agent could not find any reservation for me.

Instead sign up on-line with each of the Vegas hotels as a new card member (you can pick up your card when you arrive at the hotel, or if you already have gambling cards use your membership number) and be sure to check the box that says you want to be sent the email offers.
