   12 years ago. Save. I rented a mid size SUV at Phoenix Sky for $13.00 per day in my husbands name through Priceline. I then signed up for Hertz Gold through AAA in my husbands name. I just called Hertz and because we used Priceline, we are not able to use the Hertz Gold perks like adding a second driver (myself) or skipping the rental line.

   It is so odd, I have Priceline in my list of sites I check routinely, but this happened to pop up when I clicked an AD for cheap Maui car rentals. Go figure! I went to Dollar direct to check it out and it was nearly $300 more! This is such a game! LOL This was booked with Dollar via Priceline; $480 PAY LATER (of course) for 11 days.

So these scammers you speak about who charged you $128 extra, is the rental car agency if this was a pre-paid rental.
