The bigger companies won't rent till later in the afternoon. I called 24 hour rent a car because i wanted a car first thing.. They don't have a shuttle, they picked us up in the vehicle we were going to use, fine with me. They were timely. Checking the vehcile out was easy, the employee was really nice.
6. Re: Opinions on quickest "in & out" car rental company from LAX. 10 years ago. Agree with Belomiser, I've had less problem and quicker check-in with the major name brands, Hertz & Avis. I've had terrible waits, even at midnight, with the cheaper brands, which are often located in the same facility as the major name-brands.
Based on the dates you have provided I have checked with Hertz (my preferred supplier) and compared picking up and dropping off at LAX, and doing the same at the Inglewood location just down the road from the airport. Cost for a Group C car, LAX US$1011 vs Inglewood US$236. No trouble with Hertz crossing state lines.
Lastly, you'll need to compare renting the car with a pickup/drop off at LAX versus one with a pickup near your hotel and a drop off at LAX (and, maybe, also look at the cost of a pickup/drop off near your hotel plus an airport transfer back to LAX). Do the math but it seems reasonable that delaying the rental will save you some money.
Answer 1 of 3: Hello...!!! I am arriving at LAX on 17/08 and go to rent a car for a couple days and drop off in LAS on 21/08. I do not want to pay more than $50/day. Is this Rental Insurance OK? Rental Car Damage Protection for only $9 per day. KayaK...
Or am I best off just booking through the rental car company (sticking with companies I've heard of; Alamo, Dollar, Hertz, Avis, Thrifty etc) We need a car for 9 days in early April (larger car preferred - 4 pax with 4 bags)
