    5. Re: Dave's DVC rentals. 10 years ago. David doesn't own the points. He is a broker who matches up owners who want to rent out their points with a guest who wants a DVC reservation. So he pays the member $11 and he keeps $3 per point required. Or it might be $12 and $2.

However, when the pandemic closed the resorts, folks who rented points through him got to experience some of the significant drawbacks that this process entails.

    I tracked the price in Disney site for a long time and felt it was way too expensive. Then came across David's site, as well as one other site. I even considered renting privately from a DVC member. Did extensive research as I also had similar worries. I found The Disboards forum quite helpful to understand the DVC rental process.

    Yes, my understanding is that BCV’s inventory is quite small so those villas are more difficult to get. I used David’s for our upcoming trip in March. My first choice was Poly, followed by BCV and AKL. I was booking at 7 mos out.
