    Thanks for your thoughtful response, Valiants. Interestingly, when I made the booking through cheapcarrental, they didn't ask for a credit card. Otherwise, I wouldn't have made the booking. So no prepayment and no way they can grab money. They also indicate I can cancel at any time up to 48 hours before the rental. So all that looks good.
