   Re: DVD player--what format in France. The TV format (PAL/SECAM/NTSC) is a non issue since you are talking digital. IF the DVD player is multi-zone compatible (plays region 1,2 or 3) it can play any DVD. Generally speaking you can only expect the DVD player in france to play Zone 2 DVDS (i.e. those bought in europe).

   Here's that problem: I can play an Italian DVD coded for Region 2 on my laptop by agreeing to a message that is within Windows that says I can swap my DVD player code from Region 1 to Region 2, but, once I do that, I cannot then play any Region 1 DVDs!
