    I recently have been looking for a rental with unlimited miles myself. Some car rentals like avis and budget advertise unlimited miles, but read the fine print. They often limit the so called "unlimited miles" to only a handful of states, with a 25 - 35 cent/mile surcharge for any miles outside of those states.

    In my experiences with Alamo, "unlimited" means truly unlimited, and the car can be taken into Canada (with no additional charge or paperwork involved) provided it is finally returned to an Alamo depot in the USA.
