   I always just use my regular ATM card when traveling. What's the advantage of a separate card? Anyway, Peru has lots of ATMs. If your card is part of a common network like cirrus or star I'm sure it will work. Credit cards are accepted in some places but others are cash only. Visa is probably the most widely accepted type or credit card.

   This has nothing to do with air travel. You don't need one person with a large credit limit. You can each get a credit card with a lower limit to cover your portion. You can purchase a prepaid VISA card and pay with that and then have a card with a lower limit on which the hotel may place a hold. You can give the hotel cash as a hold.
