The way I have done it:: Alamo has "Skip the counter option". Become a loyalty member with Alamo. Rent through Costco. Take the Costco/Alamo confirmation #, go to the Alamo site using your loyalty number. Look up your reservation with the # . When you checkin 48 hour or more hours before pickup you can chose the Skip.

A little while back I put up a post regarding checking car rental prices from Costco often. I had booked an Alamo car for an incredibly good price, checked back a week later and found a Budget car for even less. Yesterday I checked Costco prices again and Alamo has now beat the Budget price! Maybe if I keep checking it will be free!

Costco does have some great car rental deals. We did 14 days from 6/30-7/14/14 for $311.13 all included. Trying to find a deal for 10/26-11/09/15 but lowest I can get is costco at $443. DHR was $487. Will keep checking back to see if I can match my super cheap 2014 deal. (Economy).
