   I used to get great deals on car rentals with Priceline's name your price bid system. Now it's a scam. their ads are everywhere with incredible deals- $13/day midsize, $15/ day full size, often says yesterday or today's winning bid. when I try to find a car for upcoming visit to LR in August and Batesville, these links everytime result is, like, economy car only $39.99/day.

   Priceline has the best car rental rates. We have used them many times and have never had a problem. We have used them many times and have never had a problem. You do have to pay up-front, and if something happens and you do not take your trip you still have to pay for the car through Priceline.

   I've looked into Hotwire and Priceline but have felt I've done better using discount codes to which I'm entitled and booking directly, or using Costco or USAA or AARP. I don't personally like to pay in advance and get locked in since I want to know the cars that are available before signing anything, but many prefer the savings of pre-payment ...

   The offers where the company was not named seemed cheap, but I could see by reading the details that the unnamed rental car company was off the airport property and that generally includes only the shoddiest off the shoddy rental car companies. I would consider Priceline for a big discount, but not just to save a few bucks.

However time pressures sometimes means it’s easier to see the sort of prices on offer on an aggregator site rather than traveling through each supplier individually. I’ve learned a lesson though.
