Foxit Reader, also released today, gets the job done and does NOT require but a fraction of the useless garbage this thing inflicts on your machine. Put the two products in a VM and observe the differences. This is typical of what Big Software has become: bloated, inefficient and full of "features" that are largely irrelevant.
I installed Adobe Reader 8, and found it used a massive amount of RAM. After running ARSU, things are better (and faster). Foxit is not a solution for me, for three reasons: 1. Not ideal font rendering w/ ClearType 2. Not fast rendering of images 3. Issues with search
Now, try doing the same basic scrolling with FoxIt Reader. Memory use goes up 5-10 mbs during scrolling, but it GOES BACK to previous value after you stop scrolling. So again, I think Sumatra PDF is great and really IS very promising, but I'll stick to FoxIt for the time-being.
