6. Re: Pacific Highway 1 - Google maps. 5 years ago. You can easily add waypoints to force Google maps to take the route you want, although you can only add so many, (ten I believe). Anyway you can type in the city or you can do a map search so you just put the X on Highway one and hit save.
The Lancaster & Palmdale routes both go through the Antelope Valley. The Lancaster route connects to I-15 via the 58, the Palmdale route uses the 138/CA-18. Either route is fine. From the Sherman Way on-ramp in Van Nuys (I-405) to the Flamingo Blvd. exit in Las Vegas it’s just less than 5 hours.
Also, I caution against using Waze for driving directions - it basically tries to route you around traffic in real time, but in doing so tends to take you zig zagging on side streets, and has you making a lot of left-hand turns on to major streets from side streets at intersections where there are no traffic signals, and even worse, asking you to drive straight across major streets when there ...
