In this case if you read CO's rules under the Checked Baggage Fee category, they specifically list seven (7) categories of passengers who are exempt from bags fees. The fourth (4th) item address your issue/question directly, it says, "Any customer traveling on full fare economy class (Y) tickets get their first and second checked-bag fees waived".

Usually when you fly business class you get more luggage allowance, you'd have to check with Continental. I dont travel with that much stuff, so have never had to ask. Also, Continental is very generous with their carryon allowance, so you may be able to get away with carrying on 1 of those bags, if you arent already.
