Beware travelers Hertz Cancun Airport. On the last rental we waited 2 hours 40 minutes. The reason that the wait increases is due to unwarranted pressure from unscrupulous trained customer service reps vampiring the public. In Mexico, if not mistaken, the third party damages coverage is 100,000 pesos to humans and 50,000 to property.
Credit card charged $1500.00!!! $1000.00 of taxes, false upgrade, and random services. We declined all, charged for all to the enormous sum of $1500.00!!! It is a total scam. I emailed the Hertz customer service and requested a $40 refund. They responded and gave me the refund without a problem. I tried to complain to Hertz Customer Service, but they refused to take any responsibility, claiming that "Cancun, Mexico is an independently owned and operated Hertz licensee franchise location. As such, local rates and services are determined by the owner. In addition, this location processes their own billing and invoices.
