We own a 3 year old USA model Garmin Nuvi 50 with USA maps only. It comes with free lifetime updates for USA maps. Please can somebody let me know if it is possible to load maps for Canada onto the device? If so, for this technophobe, how do I do it? I have looked at Garmin's website, and most of the links are for updating existing map sets.
Garmin does indeed provide their own maps for South Korea. But if you want their up-to-date map you have to purchase their nuvi 1450 from their physical store. If you want an SD card version that works in your current Garmin GPS you may run into some issues as they don't sell the SD cards anymore. Plus depending on your model it may not work.
Answer 1 of 7: I have seen recommendations for OpenStreetMap instead of buying Garmin's maps. Can you really do this for free? Are they up to date? Basically has anyone else used them and not had trouble with them?
