In case another member reads the title of this thread and wonders how long for a review to be published..... in general, I think most reviews are published within 2 or 3 days. Some reviews are pulled aside for a more thorough look and might take a week or two. And anyone can contact TA staff to ask about the status of their review.
Hi coug1920; There are three key things that factor into the popularity index; • the number of reviews. • how favourable the reviews are. • how old or recent the reviews are. TripAdvisor also takes into consideration guidebooks and news articles, when available. It is not just based on the reviews and ratings you can see on the page.
As a new user of the TripAdvisor forums, I would suggest reading the "sticky" at the top of the forum’s page before posting in any forum. The sticky will explain the focus/purpose of the forum and other important details. As an example, the sticky for this forum reads; “PLEASE READ: How to use this forum” and has a pushpin icon beside it.

In the meantime, do check your spam filter - sometimes TA emails a link to click to verify that you really did upload a review, and those emails often get stuck in spam; if you miss their deadline, your review will be rejected. im trying to contact someone who posted a review of a guesthouse i recently stayed in, i have tried the personal message option, but had no reply, is there another way to get in touch with them, i need to contact them as i am trying to claim back the cost of my stay due to the quality of the accomodation, their review backs up my claim, any help appreciated.
Answer 1 of 12: I would do more reviews but I do not have a list of my past reviews/ratings. Is there some way I can see that list to be sure I haven't already done one for a restaurant/ hotel/etc.?
