Re: PDX - Hertz Car rental - avoid like the plague! 9 years ago. To OKaren - While there may be hotel shuttles from PDX to downtown, the easiest and cheapest way is to get the MAX Light Rail. Costs about $6 and takes maybe 40 mins. Alternative is a $40+ taxi. Report inappropriate content. kaleberg.
There are several rental companies a 'reasonable' distance from Union Station. Closest is Dollar on NW Broadway/Davis. A couple others (Hertz & Enterprise) are just south of Burnside, around SW Pine/4th, opposite Embassy Suites hotel. Avis is a couple blocks further south, on SW Washington/4th.
Re: Hertz airport after hour drop off. Aug 7, 2023, 10:51 PM. PS....I just found this.....but I still recommend calling Hertz. "Hertz: early or late drop-offs are allowed. You'll be asked to park the car in the designated Hertz area and return the car keys and rental agreement in the drop box." Reply.
