    If someone uses a fake card reader they can empty out your bank account with no recourse. If someone skims your credit card number, often the credit card companies will work with you.     This is really a debit card so must be attached to a checking account, but gets you a 3 cent per gallon discount at most Walmart and Murphy gas pumps. Walmart gas is usually the cheapest gas anyway where it's available, and the extra discount really helps. Before I got my MC, I used the Murphy card almost exclusively on road trips.

    Answer 11 of 12: I know there have been some posts in the past but I don't see any up-to-date information. I will be visiting Cuba soon, and need to take a credit card with me on the bus to pay to the beach, and various hotel restaurants.
