You want the "Big head" series 2009 $100 notes and they need to be clean without rips, tears etc. I get them from BOA. Just ask the teller to go through their stacks and pick the best ones. These days even the smallest towns have ATM machines. I get all my local currency from these and keep my US dollars for emergencies.

If the bills are legitimate, legally printed U.S. one hundred dollar bills, they will be worth one hundred dollars, and they should be readily exchanged for five twenty dollar bills, or possibly even more depending on how old they are.
One thing to be aware of with $100 bills is the $10 bill scam. Our money is all the same size and color. Hand your $100 over and the person immediately tells you you made a mistake and it's a $10 bill (showing you). A slight of hand trick. Same goes for $50 bills.
