9 years ago. Google Flights is a search engine, but will have paid ads. I would use it to locate flights and carriers, and stay away from the advertised 3rd party booking sites. Google acquired ITA Matrix, a well-respected search engine, and repackaged it with a newer interface, which many like better. Good luck,

Perfectly fine to book with the airline following a link form Google flights. Definitely easier to book multi-city itineraries this way.
Google which owns ITA Matrix has revamped its Google Flights tool which has been around for a few years but has a better interface and is faster than ITA. It also lets you click on the fares and pull up the actual itinerary on the airline's site.
Google Flights also enables its users to calculate the climate impact of their flight, but in July 2022, this tool changed the way of calculating the climate impact of flights. Google Flights is generally only a good research tool with the results further explored on the websites of the airlines involved. In my experience the price Google gives for airline websites (I never even contemplate using an OTA) has usually been accurate.
