The docents are not allowed to talk about the murder that took place in the mansion. Although the mansion was given to the University, the family still controls the information about their family and past home. The flowers and landscaping is lovely. The original owner built a stream to flow by the house because she liked the sound of it.
Glensheen is a one of a kind historic mansion in Duluth. It is impressive from the outside and just by walking through the gardens and being on the shores of Lake Superior. A tour of the inside is amazing with knowledgable tour guides. I have yet to explore the newly opened 3rd floor, but can't wait to do so.
