On a different note, I rented a Hertz for 3 weeks, had an issue and tried numerous ways to contact Hertz. Emails, Facebook, direct to rental/return locations, even phone (apart from the emergency number). Now a month later and STILL waiting to hear from Hertz. Hertz customer service is non-existent in Europe.

Do the Hertz reps at the counter work on commission? $72,000 seems like a large salary for that job, unless they do work on commission and get commission for the insurance that you thought you were waiving.
