The only part of the coast where sharks are rare (as opposed to none) is Gokova Gulf. I have seen baby sharks caught in the nets of Gokova's fishermen more than once, when we had a summerhouse there (in the 80s). And recently, a bay in the gulf is set as wildlife preserve for a non-aggressive shark species.
