6 years ago. Save. I get that airports are more expensive. Just weird. I rented a carfrom CharlotteDouglas airport through enterprise last month for $80 for 3 days. Ended up going through Alamo. Pick up at dfw and returning to love field for $105. Enterprise was almost $400 for 3 days. Edited: 6 years ago.

You can use Expedia or other third party sites to compare rates, but then go directly to the rental car company's website to reserve. It's better not to get a third party involved, especially if there are any issues.
1) Yes, it is more expensive to rent at the airport. 2) You definitely can rent a car off-site and there are lots of places to do so. You can also go off-site and have Enterprise pick you up. 3) Some companies charge hefty drop-off fees for pick-up at one place and leaving at another, even within a city.
