Or run over to Lost Lake resort and campground. its about another 45 min into the hills from Odell.

Route 54 is a great road with character and pretty scenery. There is s lot of wide open spaces but enough small towns here and there if you plan ahead as far as gas goes. This is a road where you will see real America, not just the franchise chains and the freeway. I drive 54 from eastern Kansas to NM once or twice a year and look forward to it.
