Luckily, I stumbled across Robertson's The Larder Tomich Farm Shop in my research. A quick train ride from downtown Inverness, followed by a scenic walk, I was face to face with not 1 but 2 Highland cows. The owner of the shop even let us into a pasture area that got us closer to the cows to be able to take better pictures.

Easily spotted on the river from the Ness Bridge, the shop sells a vast array of clothing and souvenirs, not just kilts. Unless we missed it, there doesn't seem to be any signage outside for the exhibition but ask at the till (we found the staff fine) and for £2.50 they will take you up the stairs to a small exhibition showing the history of kilts.
