We have used both, they are much the same although we now always use Avis, if you join their preffered members there is no need to go to the rental desk, you go straight to the garage and your name and car allocation is on a board.

We use Avis all the time, are you a Preferred member? If not join when you book it cuts out the visit to the rental desk. You are allocated a vehicle if you are a member but if you don't like it there is an area you can pick another from, or just walk back to the kiosk in the garage where they will sort you out.
