I know MUNI makes you show ID for senior Fast Passes (but not senior cash fares), so I assume BART asks for ID also for the discount tickets. Painnurse, it's not a senior "fare" so much as a discounted high-value card; as WD says, you pay $9 and get a BART ticket loaded with $24.

San Francisco forums. Margo G. 2 posts. Bart. 1 year ago. I am flying into SFO on Oct. 25. I read that I cannot purchase an actual Clipper card at SFO, but will need to purchase a paper ticket at the airport. I will be taking BART from SFO to Powell St on the 25th and on the 28th will be taking BART from Powell St to Downtown Berkeley.

I guess I'll find out about the senior fare when we get on the bus and ask the driver. $1.50 is better than $3.00 but not a big deal. As for the cable car, at $8.00 a ride, I guess it is not really a viable means of transportation any more, just a tourist attraction. We have ridden it a couple of times on past trips.
