Seniors can buy a $24 BART card for $9 at any of the information counters in the SFO airport (not surre where you can buy them in the city, though) However, I was told these will be unavailable after April 20.
A senior arriving at SFO intending to round trip on BART can save money, it takes a little extra time, by purchasing a Green [Senior] BART card for $9. One way regular fare is $8.65. For $9, a senior could travel round trip from SFO downtown and back, plus make one round trip to downtown Oakland, leaving only 10 cents full fare on that card.
With a Senior Clipper Card (which, as Charles C said, they will get for free), it is already coded as a SENIOR FARE card. So it automatically calculates the fare at senior rates. The Green ticket is for an amount, not a time limit. and for anyone over 65. BART Green* Ticket. A 62.5% discount for seniors 65 years and older: $24 ticket for only $9. It looks like they're sold at all the Info booths in each terminal on the arrival level. Edited: 10 years ago.

Painnurse, it's not a senior "fare" so much as a discounted high-value card; as WD says, you pay $9 and get a BART ticket loaded with $24.
Kitap. To my knowledge, senior discount BART tickets are purchased from a person at the airport info center. I haven't been able to get a senior ticket from a machine. Perhaps your dad meant the info desk? Or has BART installed a new machine at SFO? Edited: 10 years ago
Answer 1 of 2: I'm a senior arriving at SFO June 1st around noon - travelling to Pleasanton (understand I transfer at the Balboa Station) - can I buy a senior bart ticket at the airport?
