8. Re: senior citizen discount. 5 years ago. Check at places like museums/shrines/castles - some have discounts that kick in at 65 or 70, so a Y600 becomes zero or half in some places. I have also encountered places that have a foreigner discount - show your passport (which you should be carrying anyway), and that can save quite a bit.
Note that if you get a Toei Subway Pass (700 yen) which is different from the Tokyo Metro Subway Pass (710yen), the Toei Pass also covers all 4 toei subway lines, plus all toei city buses (including the shitamachi bus plus the Arakawa tram line, the last tram line in Tokyo). Not familiar with this bus, but just to add I think Shinjuku has a similar type bus called the WE Bus that goes to several hotels and shopping malls and local subway stations in a continous loop. 100Yen also. good idea for those not wanting to bother with the subway if the bus stops at your hotel.
