   Another attraction for winter visitors to Las Vegas within 100 miles is Laughlin/Bullhead City south of Las Vegas along the Colorado River. Laughlin is on the Nevada side of the river and has all the gambling casinos.

   Answer 1 of 5: We are going in May and are looking for something to do for a day away from the strip. We have went to the Grand Canyon, Zion National Park and Valley of Fire. Also have been to Hoover Dam a few times.

   Some of the off-Strip casinos are interesting.The "nicest" ones are M, Red Rock Casino, Green Valley Ranch (you'll drive right by it on your way to Hoover Dam). Red Rock Casino pairs nicely with a drive-through the 13 mile scenic drive in Red Rock Canyon nearby.
