I have a few reservations with different companies. I’ll be canceling and let one or two remain. Right now I have enterprise $590; and thrifty $400; and Avis $600.

I have a booking starting 18th July and I emailed them with the code and my booking reference number. They modified the booking and initiated a refund of the discount amount in no time.
15 years ago. Thanks to a tip on Mousesavers for rental car codes, I stumbled on a Walmart coupon code for Budget. Mousesavers said the code is for Walmart customers (ie everyone) and didn't list any other stipulations. Anyhow, without the code, total cost for an intermediate car is $269. With the Walmart code, the cost is an amazing $155.
I checked daily for about a month. Was able to get a five day rental down from $275 to $95 (all taxes included). However, you need to be a member. A week rental right now through Budget via Costco is $236 for a full week starting 9/23. By comparison, the cheapest I see on carrentals.com with a "major" car rental agency is Hertz at $392.00
