   I ended up booking direct with Alamo car rental. I like Alamo because as a member of their free Insiders club I got a small discount (maybe 5%) off the price, but more importantly I can check in online and avoid the airport check in desk by simply going to the lot and picking out my car. So for me I don't see a great advantage to Priceline anymore.

   5 years ago. Last spring we rented through Alamo, but when we arrived they did not have a car and sent us over to National. It was fine, same price. Car had several minor dents and scratches but that is the case with many rental cars in Aruba. Car was mechically fine and got us around for a couple weeks.
