Pull up a map of DEN airport so you see the layout of Concourse B & A that connect via the underground train (escalator or elevator down to that level).

2 years ago. If you're using the same airline 45 minutes between gate to gate is adequate & probably not a concourse switch but assuming your first flight arrives on time or no delays on the tarmac. If you're flight is late that airline is responsible for reconnecting you. If you have a choice for a longer layover it's a safer bet.
UA 473 SNA - DEN just landed at B-24. That cannot be guaranteed as the gate for UA 473, when you fly it. UAX 3374 DEN - RAP departs B-57. I just received a notification from United Airlines that our flight departure has changed. Had a 1.5 hour layover in Denver to continue on to Huston. Layover is now 40 minutes.

The airport is on the far east side of the city so there isn't much nearby. It takes about 40 minutes to get from the airport to downtown Denver.
