1. Re: Expedia.com Car Rental Question. I suggest you reserve the rental directly from the rental car company rather than Expedia. You can use Expedia or other third party sites to compare rates, but then go directly to the rental car company's website to reserve. It's better not to get a third party involved, especially if there are any issues.

Not sure if this assists, but l have always found that when booking through a third party (ie a tour package), all entitlements and perks with companies like Hilton, Sheraton, Hertz etc (except for airlines miles) become nullified.
always cancel the unneeded reservation. if you are not a 'member', there can be charges applied if you do not cancel. as others have stated, just common courtesy to do so anyway. as for availability, it will vary on the when, is it a busy weekend?, then the size you selected might not be available. read the fine print and know what your options are.
8 years ago. Even if the car rental is cancellable, I would think if you purchased a bundled package from Expedia and you try to cancel the car, that they will cancel the whole package. Usually bundles are at a bundle price and you can't unbundle them. I think you'll have to re-book the flight and the price of the flight might go up.
