This is a LARGE park, with confusing, narrow, country roads around it. West Cable Line Rd. remains closed, so you must zigzag around to get to the Marina/Beach/2 large picnic shelters on the south side. Many park signs are present but mostly smallish, and do not indicate distances.
Mentor Headlands Beach is huge with plenty of free parking and picnic areas. There are outdoor grills as well. To the farthest east you will find a boardwalk and path out to the lighthouse. To the western end, you will find more of the beach. The playground is near the entrance and is small.
