Kaitlin Marie Bennett (born October 15, 1995), also known as the Kent State gun girl, is an American gun rights activist and conservative social media personality. She received media attention in 2018 for open-carrying an AR-10 rifle at Kent State University after graduating. Bennett and her husband run Liberty Hangout.
Mentor Headlands Beach is huge with plenty of free parking and picnic areas. There are outdoor grills as well. To the farthest east you will find a boardwalk and path out to the lighthouse. To the western end, you will find more of the beach. The playground is near the entrance and is small.
This is a LARGE park, with confusing, narrow, country roads around it. West Cable Line Rd. remains closed, so you must zigzag around to get to the Marina/Beach/2 large picnic shelters on the south side. Many park signs are present but mostly smallish, and do not indicate distances.
Excellent park for Ohio people. Aug 2021. This State park is hidden gem for those who are looking for all kinds of activities. If you're looking for a day trip in the Lake, or if you want to bike, or if you want to swim, or if you want to sit and relax, or if you want to hike. The park is good size and offers enough space for everyone.
Many Recreational Opportunities but Some Flaws. May 2013 • Friends. “On paper”, Findley State Park looks great with shady tent, RV, cabin and group camping in a former state forest, hiking trails, lake beach and swimming, fishing, boat rentals, picnic areas, disk golf and a mountain bike trail.
The Wildlife cottages are more modern, with no wood-burning fireplace, and have a 1970s-era appearance about them. There are wildlife cottages on both sides of the lake. The original dining lodge burned to the ground in Feb. 2006, but was finally rebuilt in 2011/2012 and opened for business in early Autumn 2012.

Lots of sand, and very smooth rock beach. The beach is approximately 1/2 mile in length. When we were there, it was a beautiful sunny day, with the wind blowing off Lake Erie, and because of the wind direction there was a 2-3 foot surf. Water temp was in the low 70's.
