2. Re: Preparing to Avoid Rental Car fees on Tolls. 4 years ago. Hertz charges something like $4.99 per day, once you go through the first toll. What I don’t like about Hertz, they charge you each and every day of the rental, even if you never go through another toll. The max is $24 or so, but it’s just flat out wrong.
Thus, under the terms of the program, if you rent a car for 5 days and on the 5th day you use your EZ Pass, you are charged an extra $24.75 administrative fee for five days, more than twice the most expensive toll in the NYC area. My issue is that these costs are not disclosed immediately because of the way Hertz issues rental contracts.
2. Re: Hertz location in Manhattan. 5 years ago. It's difficult to operate a lot of businesses in urban settings. I hated the Hertz in Paris where I had to drive the car down a tiny ramp to the seventh sub-basement and slide the car into a microscopic stall, without anyone from the company inspecting the car for me!
