It is privately owned by KSL Capital Partners and Henry Crown and Company, the owners of Aspen/Snowmass. It is a conglomerate of several ski resorts that offers a combined season pass.
Ikon and Epic don't mix, they are the 2 biggest competitors in ski resort industry. I would buy the Epic then get Aspen tickets directly from AspenSnowmass. Epic tends to be a little bit cheaper, particularly when you want to add the Aspen days to Ikon. Mountain Collective is the only other big pass I know that includes Aspen, but it's only 2 days.
Jan 2020. Snowmass ski resort is a large resort with a lot varied terrain, that should appeal to any level of skier/snowboarder. We spent three days on the mountain, and were unable to get to all of the runs. The high speed chairlifts take you to the top of the mountain for phenomenal views, and long ski runs.
The "all resorts" refers to the dozens of ski areas owned by Vail Corp. The lower pricing tiers don't include Breck so you have to buy that one. A pass gives you access to every trail at the mountain (although there are some other ski areas that require a premium ticket to ride, say, a fast tram to the top. That doesn't apply at Breck)
