110 helpful votes. 6. Re: extra charge on Hertz car rental for being over 65. 12 years ago. For a Hertz reservation, they ask your age in this manner: 18-19, 20-24 or 25+. There is no mention of a charge for a 65+ driver. I called them and got the same information. I think there is some misunderstanding here.
The question is how they define “senior,’’ which could put you in a position to ask about the discounts for seniors if you are in that 55-plus-but-not-yet-60 range.
