   Bypass the counter. Avis, hertz, dollar, Alamo, enterprise are consider the big 4. Budget was once there, but they have dropped so far so fast. Fox, thrifty, advantage, EZ car, are all second tier companies in the car rental biz. Hence all the major companies have kiosk to use, advantage does not.

   I called Priceline and they admitted that the prepayment $261 is only for reservations fee not for car rental. The thrifty car rental said the prepayment not go to their pocket.    Hi! We are going to rent a car for two days to go from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon.. Reviewing the prices I see that when making the reservation directly in Avis it comes out for 397 dollars: 218 of the car, 89 of LDW and ALI (insurance) and 80 of taxes, while in Priceline for the same car for the same date it gives a total price of 203, indicates that this includes taxes and the two insurances.

I have a few reservations with different companies. I’ll be canceling and let one or two remain. Right now I have enterprise $590; and thrifty $400; and Avis $600.
