It included all of the insurance and I had a worry-free trip. I booked again for a trip in 2020 it was going to cost me €897 for a compact automatic for 12 days.

I've been once before and rented thru Conn's Ireland Car Rental (they include full insurance) for 1 week, it was about $550 I think in 2019. This time I need a car for 13 days. With insurance (the only way Conns does it) the cost was Є1645. Thats close to $2000 which seems ridiculous to me. So I decided to use my Costco Citi Card insurance.

The site says it includes CDW if you take the Alamo options, which from also doing same search on Alamo U.K. site are a little bit cheaper. However for the cheaper Enterprise options it is not. Rather bizarrely the same car with Alamo says 5 people 4 cases but Enterprise say 5 ...
I used to get the insurance and then I called my personal car insurance company a number of years ago. I now have a rider on it that also covers a rental car for personal use. I think I pay $4 / year for it. Before you go you should get a letter from your insurance company to show to the rental agent to prove you are covered.
