I hadn’t skied here in years but decided to visit again after Okemo was added to the Epic pass. I recall enjoying my visit years ago, but also thinking that the mountain was overwhelmingly intermediate. A wonderful place for learners but very little challenging terrain for experienced skiers and riders. Fast forward to 2021.
Kids Area looked like fun for the littles. Free gondola ride is a great experience for anyone and is a way better deal then the $99 unlimited Epic Discovery pass. I find the mountain at Breckenridge dangerous, too many runs that intersect without folks looking as the pass. Fun town. Beaver Creek, small village, great mountain for beginners. More relaxed than Vail. It all depends on what is most important. Vail wins the Village vibe. Love the mountain but dang, it's easy to get lost.
There is no public parking at Peak 8, so you have to take the free gondola from in town, with free parking in North or South lots at the base of the gondola (Breck Connect Gondola address is 320 North Park Avenue, Breckenridge, CO). The ticket window opens around 8:30 or 8:45 AM, I believe, at the base of the gondola.
The top alpine ski area in Southern New Hampshire, Mount Sunapee overlooks the shores of Lake Sunapee and is surrounded by small towns like Newbury, New London, and Bradford. The mountain has a loyal following of families who grew up skiing here and return generation after generation. Chris Corliss came from one of those families.
